Scott Barrie



Born in 1946. Scott went to fashion schools Philadelphia and New York City. After graduating, Scott begun to cut and sew jersey dresses in his apartment, while working jobs on 7th avenue.


After, Bloomingdales and Henri Bendel bought Scotts dresses. He was able to open a showroom in 1968.


Scott Barrie soon became another African American to become a great American designer. Scott was know for his modern way of draping jersey and chiffon. His jersey dresses were all the talk of the late 60s & 70s.


After making his mark, he moved to Europe and worked for Krizia, while still selling his designs.


Scott died in 1993.
