Willi Smith

Born in 1948. Willi went to two different schools, before dropping out at Parsons and strating his own business.

At the young age of 29, he started Willwear Ltd. with his business partner Laurie Mullet. Williwear Ltd made Willi one of the first and youngest African American fashion designers to have huge success, with sales exceeding $20 million annually.

Willi went on to work for movies like School Daze, Spiderman and Secret Pasteres.

At the age of 39, Willi died of pneumonia.
